Please be advised that unfortunately ABR will no longer be able to conduct Motor Vehicle Searches in QLD due to changes in the Privacy Act, without at least one of the following documents to support your request:

Motor Vehicle Incidents:

A Police motor vehicle incident report.

A letter from an Insurance Company or legal practitioner, which supports the motor vehicle incident, search.

A Statutory Declaration confirming details about the motor vehicle incident and a repair quote given for the vehicle.

The written permission of the registered owner/s of the motor vehicle or vessel.

Bankruptcy/Family Court/Fraud:

A court or legal document specifying the court matter.

A letter from a legal practitioner specifying the court matter.

A letter from an insolvency entity exercising powers under the Bankruptcy Act 1996 (CWLTH) or exercising powers under the provisions of the Corporations Law relating to external administration.

A Statutory Declaration detailing the particular court matter.

Statutory Entity:

An authorisation for the registration search on official letterhead -

• from a local government or other entity established under a statute enforcing law about vehicles, or about the parking of vehicles in an area under its control;
• from an entity stating the relevant provisions of the legislation that gives the entity lawful access to details kept by the chief executive in the register;
• from an entity that has lawful access under administrative arrangements approved by the chief executive, to details kept by the chief executive register.

Court:

A court or legal document specifying the court matter.

A letter from a legal practitioner specifying the court matter, for example, for a criminal injury compensation case reference to the relevant sections of the Criminal Code or Criminal Offence Victims Act 1995 must be stated.

Other:

With the written permission of the registered operator.

A court or legal document specifying the court matter (eg judgements or execution warrants)
